As we commemorate the centenary of the Great War, come and join us for a delicious lunch and learn about the role of women as special agents and resistance fighters, in the front line and behind the lines. Our speaker, Hugh Davies, a Bletchley Park guide, will provide a fascinating insight into how women, throughout history, have been involved in the struggle for liberation against an occupying force or the promotion and execution of what they perceive as a just cause. The struggle may involve active and passive activities as well as providing support. We will hear about some of the many brave and committed women who took part, and the organisations behind them. What they have in common is that they chose to do something.
