GROUPS

Choir

In 2015 it is 30 years since several members who enjoyed singing together formed a choir, the Clayton le Woods Singers.   The choir performs at least two concerts each year and also accepts invitations to sing at other venues, and has raised many hundreds of pounds in aid of national and local charities.   If you enjoy singing and would like to join the choir, members are always welcome.   The choir practices every Wednesday at the Community Centre situated in the grounds of Manor Road Primary School.

Craft

Craft has always played an important role within the WI, and our Craft Group meets once a month at Spring Meadow Community Centre where members can develop existing skills and try their hands at new ones.

Rambling

If you enjoy the outdoors and rambling, our Rambling Group meets every month to explore the countryside, usually with a pub lunch neatly fitted in.   Local walks are organised that are not strenuous, although sometimes they can be very wet!   Members are notified of the meeting place at the previous WI meeting.

Book Club

Join our Book Club if you enjoy a good book.   Monthly meetings are held to discuss, analyse and appreciate a variety of books and styles of authors, with tea and biscuits provided.

Lunch Club

Our monthly Lunch Club provides us with the opportunity to meet for a chat and sample the food at various pubs and restaurants in the area.

Knitting Group

A Knitting Group has recently been set up where members are able to 'knit and natter' for an hour or two.   The group meets at Campbell's Clubhouse, Cuerden Residential Park twice a month on Wednesday afternoons.   Beginners are always welcome.
