About Us
Kirkland WI is a friendly group who meet at 7.30 pm on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at Kirkland & Catterall Memorial Hall at Churchtown.
We were formed in 1921 and have about 35 members. At Kirkland we like to take a relaxed approach to running our institute and put the emphasis on informality.
We have an annual programme of speakers and activities and meet every month (except in August). There is an annual subscription but no charge for meetings. In addition to speakers we organise activities such as ten pin bowling, walks, and trips to the theatre and interesting places.
We believe that Kirkland WI should reflect its members so we are always open to new ideas and suggestions. If you would like to find out more – just come along to one of our meetings – visitors who want to give us a try are always welcome.
